Haw River

Approximately 110 miles long, the Haw River begins in Forsyth County and flows south through the Piedmont until it joins the Cape Fear River. Portions of the Haw offer Class 2 rapids for paddlers. Other activities include bird watching, hiking, and fishing. Historical mill towns, vineyards, and small farms are found along the banks of the Haw, adding to its unique character.
