Visit to Greycliff (Frank Lloyd Wright house)
Little photo collage from a visit last week with Ingrid & Tai to Frank Lloyd Wright's Greycliff house on Lake Erie just outside Buffalo, New York. Did you know that Frank Lloyd Wright was an admirer of Ralph Rapson's work and had several pieces of Rapson's furniture in his homes? Like FLW (but different) RR is an amazing architect & designer and such an inspiring man - if you don't own Ralph Rapson: Sixty Years of Modern Design, it is an amazing book and a great addition to every architecture and design library. Ralph Rapson: Sketches and Drawings from Around the World is also a great reference for Rapson fans.
June 10-20 Photos of Chapel Hill Site
Below are some recent photos (June 10 - 20 2007) from the home we're building in Chapel Hill. After receiving the building permit in March 2007, we're making great progress toward a July 2007 move-in date for our clients. Architect, Dustin Ehrlich, has done an excellent job of designing some amazing spaces and integrating a variety of modern materials. Below you'll notice a variety of exterior siding materials like rusted corrugated metal, horizontal western red cedar, concrete, stone, and board & batten Hardi board panels.

Below are some interior photos showing the mosaic glass tile shower with five sprayers in the master bath, black laminate cabinetry in the open kitchen, quartzite vanities, oval elevated fireplace in the master bedroom, aluminum window walls in the living room, master bedroom, and the studio, skylights throughout the house, and beautiful modern fans in the living room.
